Should you hold out for your perfect soulmate or is there a point where you should just settle for someone who’s good enough? Disney movies and romantic comedies and to a lesser extent, “The Bachelor” have trained us to believe that our PERFECT SOULMATE is out there. But is there a point where you should just say, “I don’t know if I’m gonna ever find my soulmate. Maybe they don’t even exist. And I’m definitely not getting any younger. So…um…will you marry me?”
The majority of people say no. 61% say you should hold out for The One. Only 11% say you should settle for someone who’s good enough.
Men are almost twice as likely as women to think just settling for someone is a good idea.
And maybe not surprisingly, people in their 50s are most likely to say you should settle…people in their 30s and 40s are second-most likely…and people in their 20s are least likely to say you should settle.
