Fans of critically-acclaimed “The Handmaid’s Tale” may be happy to know that the show will be welcoming a new guest star for its second season.
Marisa Tomei will appear in the second episode of season two, which takes place in the Colonies. Details about her character haven’t been revealed. “We were lucky enough to have Marisa Tomei guest star,” executive producer Bruce Miller announced at the Television Critics Association press tour over the weekend, eliciting gasps from the room. “I was excited too! It was a complete pleasure.”
The Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning show will return April 25 with two new episodes, the streaming service said Sunday. Subsequent episodes will be released on Wednesdays. The 13-episode sophomore season will follow pregnant Offred (Elisabeth Moss) as she fights to secure a better future for her child.
