TripAdvisor has ranked Halifax 4th on a global list of top travel spots for 2018! Halifax is the only Canadian city to make the cut; destinations are chosen based on positive traveler review ratings. This is the sixth year TripAdvisor has held the awards; Nairobi, Kenya was 3rd, Kapaa, Hawaii was 2nd and Ishigaki, Japan was number one on the list.
Nova Scotia is entering peak flu season, according to our province’s chief medical officer of health and even though it’s been a worse-than-normal one, the number of cases here are normal. The best way to avoid getting sick is to get the flu shot but that can take 2 weeks before you reach immunity so you should get sooner than later if you haven’t already.
CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie says talks continue with a potential ownership group to bring a team to Halifax. So much so that the topic is on the agenda for their GM meetings this week – but he won’t put any timetables on the possible expansion. He adds that at the end of the day, the big issue is: the stadium.
YouTube has finally cut ties with Logan Paul over his since-yanked video filmed in a Japanese suicide forest. He will no longer be promoted by YouTube on Google Preferred which highlights popular channels to advertisers, and any future content and film projects are on-hold too. Paul promoted the video as “the craziest and most real video I’ve ever uploaded,” but backtracked when he was criticized for being insensitive and claiming he was trying to raise mental health awareness.
Ricky Martin got married! He is no longer “Livin’ La Vida Loca” and has settled down with partner Jwan Yosef. The 46-year-old singer and 33-year-old Yosef started dating in 2016 and announced their engagement on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that November.
