A suspect is in custody after attempting to set off an explosion yesterday morning in Manhattan. Reports suggest the pipe bomb was partially detonated earlier-than-planned and the suspect was injured in the incident, as were three passersby, although none of their injuries were life-threatening. NYPD are calling it a terrorist attack.
Golden Globe nominations were announced yesterday: HBO miniseries Big Little Lies racked up a slew of nods and the film The Shape of the Water leads all movies with seven nominations, including an acting nom for its star Sally Hawkins who may recognize for playing Maud Lewis in Maudie. The 2018 Golden Globes happen January 7, hosted by Seth Meyers.
Heads up for this weekend, kiddos – it’s time for the annual Halifax winter parking ban! The parking ban starts this Friday (December 15) and will only be enforced during snow and ice events or when the city needs more time to clear roads between one & six AM.
Halifax Retales is reporting that the first ever Tim Horton’s to open in Nova Scotia is closing. Tim’s at 153 Wyse Rd – same side as the MacDonald Bridge on the Dartmouth side and almost directly across from the drive-thru Tim’s; it opened in 1975 and will close at the end of this month.
