Fueled by strong winds, the wildfires raging near LA forced a closure of freeways and damaged multimillion-dollar homes in Bel-Air. One fire alone had scorched about 90,000 acres and carved a path of destruction stretching more than 10 miles just last night. Over 200,000 people were forced to evacuate so far.
TIME Magazine has named “The Silence Breakers” who spoke out against sexual harassment and assault as “Person of the Year” for 2017. A Time magazine spokesperson says the hundreds of men and women who have come forward, using the hashtag #MeToo “unleashed one of the highest-velocity shifts in our culture since the 1960’s.”
Diddy has been named the highest-paid musician of 2017 by Forbes magazine, pulling in a career-best $130 million pretax. His total was boosted this year by his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour, a vodka deal and the sale of a portion of his Sean John clothing line. Meanwhile, Beyonce ranks second, Drake came in third with The Weeknd and Coldplay rounding out the top 5.
Ryan Reynolds has signed on to star in the live-action Pokemon movie Detective Pikachu. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds will play Pikachu in the film – which tells the tale of a teen trying to find his kidnapped father. Reynolds’ role is said to be motion-capture in nature. A release date has yet to be revealed.
Lindsay Lohan says she’s still “trying” to make a sequel to Mean Girls happen. Lohan told Entertainment Tonight about where her Mean Girls character Cady might be more than a decade after the first film: living in Africa and adopting chidlren like Madonna. Lohan is currently living in Dubai, but is back in the U.S. to spend the holidays with family.
