On Sunday, November 12, Mix 96.5 was proud to be a part of Atlantic Acura presents Virtual Everest in support of The Arthritis Society, the ultimate test of climbing endurance in Halifax! Participants had a climb Citadel Hill National Historic Site a total of 80 times, up steep terrain that simulates the elevation from sea level to summit of Mount Everest.
This event supports The Arthritis Society’s vital programs, services, advocacy and research for the 212,000 Nova Scotians living with arthritis. It’s a big challenge, an important cause and a whole lot of fun! Since its inception in 2013, Virtual Everest has raised more than $77,000 for The Arthritis Society, and has quickly grown into a fall highlight for many groups, corporations and fitness enthusiasts – becoming one of The Arthritis Society’s most publicized events in Canada!
This year was the biggest (and chilliest) Virtual Everest yet, raising $28,493.00 – and donations are still coming in!
Congratulations and special thanks to our winners:
Top Fundraiser was Jenna Conter, raising a whopping $3,051.00!
