Jamie Baillie announced yesterday that he is stepping down as PC leader and plans to exit politics altogether; he will remain leader until a new party head is selected. Baillie has been PC leader since 2010 and says he is now “very excited” to return to private life.
The Houston Astros won their first ever World Series with a 5-1 victory over the LA Dodgers last night. The title makes the Astros the fourth team to go from 100 losses to a World Series title within 5 seasons – joining last years’ winners, the Chicago Cubs.
Us Weekly reports that Lady Gaga and boyfriend Christian Carino secretly got engaged this summer after the two began dating earlier this year. The 48-year-old talent agent reportedly asked Gaga’s father for permission to pop the question to the 31-year-old gaga. The couple hasn’t made any wedding plans just yet, as Gaga continues to focus on her health after she was hospitalized with pain from fibromyalgia.
After months of speculation, Beyonce confirmed yesterday she will voice the character of Nala in Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King, opposite Donald Glover’s Simba. The cast also includes Keegan-Michael Key playing a hyena and James Earl Jones coming back to be Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar and John Oliver as Zazu. The Lion King will hit theaters on July 19, 2019 and directed by Job Favreau.
Looks like our warm fall weather will continue right into November! Halifax will be among the warmest city in Canada with above-average temperatures for the rest of the season. We should see temps in the double digits all this week and lots of sunshine! And to really stick it to Ontario, they’re worried about frost while we’re worried about patios closing too early!
