Halifax is under a wind warning today with winds expected to gust up to 90 km/h. Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds; possibly tossing loose objects outside or cause tree branches to break. They should diminish by this evening.
While responding to a sexual assault allegation that happened in the 80’s, Kevin Spacey declared publicly he is gay last night. The actor apologized for trying to seduce then 14-year-old actor Anthony Rapp for his “deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.” Several Twitter users accused him of turning the child molestation allegation into a “coming out” story.
Halifax has ended its contract with G4S for parking enforcement because the security company didn’t meet expectations. All parking enforcement will be done in-house by the city as of November 14th when the contract renewal expires with a plan to hire nine new officers.
