A crowd of over 1,000 gathered at Toronto’s City Hall to pay tribute to Gord Downie last night. His brother Mike Downie, asked people to sing-along in Gord’s honour and to think about ways of making the country better and to keep his work with indigenous issues top-of-mind. Donations were collected for the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund.
A Christmas tree farmer in St Andrews will be donating hundreds of trees to Puerto Rico to brighten the spirits of citizens still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Scott MacKinnon says the trees will arrive in Puerto Rico on November 13th and handed out just in time for American Thanksgiving.
