Halifax Ranks 9 for Women – According to a new study, Halifax ranked ninth on a list of 25 of Canada’s best cities to be a woman. The data was based on differences between women’s and men’s access to personal and economic security, health and education. Although Halifax has the smallest share of women elected in office out of all the cities on the list and women of Halifax still make $11,000 less per year than their male counterparts.
Schmidtville Nominated – Halifax’s Spring Garden Road/Schmidtville neighbourhood is nominated in the Great Places in Canada contest and up against only one other: Montreal’s Lachine neighbourhood. Artists Wanted – Parks Canada is looking for an artist-in-residence for 6 weeks this fall season to live in Inginosh, use the Highlands as your inspiration for capturing the changing fall colours and engage with national park visitors. Royal Baby Due Date – Prince William and Princess Kate have finally revealed when their third child is due, announcing Tuesday on Twitter they are expecting a baby in April 2018. The royal couple has yet to confirm their third baby’s gender.
Ed Sheeran Broken Arms – We told you yesterday about Ed Sheeran possibly postponing some of his world tour due to his broken arms…well he announced yesterday that he is indeed CANCELING tour dates in five cities in Asia in order to recover. He broke both arms last weekend in a London cycling accident.
