Canada’s medal total is at 7. Yesterday, Canadian figure skater Eric Radford made history as the first openly gay man to win a gold medal at the Winter Olympics. American skater Adam Rippon, the first openly gay athlete to make the U.S. Winter Olympics team, won bronze in the same event.
Halifax Water says some people could have discoloured water today due to testing on a new Macdonald Bridge water line as part of the Big Lift project. The testing starts at 9 this morning and could take 8 hours; anyone with discoloured water is asked to run cold water for about 10 minutes to clear internal plumbing; if that doesn’t work, try again in a few hours.
HRM announced it has repaired 600 potholes so far; and there’s still about 200 left on the list! Not only is the city busy fixing potholes, but mechanics in the city are busy repairing cars because of them! Reports of damage to rims, tires, suspension – especially in low-profile cars.
Just in time for the most romantic day of the year, KFC has rolled out a line of scratch and sniff Valentine’s cards in the U.S. With slogans like: “You have the secret recipe to my heart” and “I fell in love the first moment I slaw you.” We’re not totally left out here in Canada: because KFC partnered with the GIF app Tenor to give us all animated KFC valentine’s available until the big day tomorrow.
Instagram is testing a new feature that will let users know if someone takes a screenshot of their stories. Users are panicking on Twitter about not being able to screenshot in peace, saying Snapchat changed it’s layout, Instagram is changing, Facebook is old news and begging Twitter not to make changes. Or you know, you could always read a book?
