Matt Lauer reportedly wants to retire and focus on his family and playing golf now that he’s been fired by NBC for sexual misconduct, according to an anonymous, longtime colleague. The 59-year-old former TODAY co-host is believed to have retreated to his home in the Hamptons. Lauer and his wife Annette Roque share three children.
Netflix announced it will resume production on House of Cards in early 2018. The eight-episode sixth season won’t feature Frank Underwood, portrayed by accused sexual predator Kevin Spacey. Instead, focus on Underwood’s equally ambitious wife, Claire, played by Robin Wright. Speculation has been rampant that Frank would simply be killed off but guess we’ll have to wait to see…
Facebook has launched Messenger Kids, a new app for children under 13 who aren’t technically allowed to have their own accounts (although, many do anyway.) Only parents can add “friends” to this app, which will be an extension of the parent’s account; so parent’s are sort of like the “gatekeeper.” Some critics of the feature say it’s a ploy for Facebook to rope in customers at a young age.
Prince Harry has reportedly asked older brother Prince William to serve as best man in his upcoming wedding to Meghan Markle. Royal weddings don’t traditionally include a “best man” – but William broke that tradition by having Harry as his best man in 2011. Harry and Markle will tie the knot at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May.
The Grammys may have dissed Ed Sheeran but Spotify says he is the most streamed artist of the year with over 6 billion streams. He also has Spotify’s biggest album of the year and top song for Shape of You. Ed was nominated for two Grammys but shut out of the major categories like album and song of the year; no female acts made Spotify’s Top 5 most streamed list.
