The official send-off for the Nova Scotia Tree for Boston happens this morning at Grand Parade/City Hall. The tree is given as part of the annual thank you to Boston for the help they sent us after the Halifax Explosion 100 years ago next month. Port Cities will perform at the ceremony that kicks of at 11:30.

Serena Williams and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian got married in a Beauty and the Beast-themed wedding in New Orleans Thursday. The couple was joined by their closest family and friends, including their 2-month-old daughter Alexis and celebrity guests included Serena’s sister Venus Williams, Beyonce, Ciara, and Eva Longoria.
Blake Shelton really has a sense of humour about the criticism he’s been receiving since being named Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine. He read mean tweets out loud about it on Ellen yesterday. “Woke up and saw Blake Shelton is the sexiest man alive. Did a bunch of celebrities die or something last night?” one asked. Another complained, “Blake Shelton is sexy if you like a guy who’s always about to lean in and tell you about a hearty, healthy American dog food.” Shelton also told Ellen that he’s loving being a newly-minted sex symbol.
