If you recall from the Season 7 finale, Ser Bronn of the Blackwater decides that the most epic coming together of the Seven Kingdoms’ elite just isn’t for him, and takes Podrick to find a brothel. It was a little weird, right? Who wouldn’t wanna watch Westeros’ most hated regals take on the swarthy usurpers vying for seat on the Iron Throne?
Well, the reason is actually quite simple: Lena Headley (Cersei Lannister) and Jerome Flynn (Bronn) used to date, and things aren’t exactly copacetic between them!
In a 2014 interview, Lena’s costar Jack Gleeson, who played Joffrey Baratheon let it slip that “Jerome and Lena aren’t on speaking terms any more and they are never in the same room at the same time.” Strange for the writers, seeing as how in the first few seasons while Tyrion was at court, Cersei’s little brother never seemed to go anywhere without his sell-sword bodyguard.
Jack goes on to say “It’s a pity because they appeared to have patched things up for a while, but now the word is they should be kept apart at all costs.”
Regardless of their real-life dating history, Bronn better hightail it outta Kingslanding, because any friend of Jaime and Tyrion’s is a threat to Cersei.
